They travel around your body in your lymphatic system, helping fight infections. There are two types of lymphocyte: B lymphocytes (B cells) and T lymphocytes (T cells). WebbHistologically, MALT lymphoma of the thyroid is described as highly cellular with a prominent population of intermediate-sized lymphoid cells, lymphoepithelial lesions, reactive lymphoid follicles and a plasma-cell component. MALT thyroid lymphomas are typically positive for the B-cell phenotype.
