Being a dayz veteran myself (played the mod back in 2013, jumped ship to stand-alone by patch 1.6 IIRC), I can assure you that Tarkov is a whole different ballgame, so be prepared to struggle a lot. If you’re used to solo play you will enjoy Tarkov solo.
